Basic Advice For any project, if you have a good relationship with a sign company, they are more than willing to help you with the right information. If you call any sign company for information, you may get the wrong information. Make sure you consult with an experienced sign person or contractor with at least 10 years experience. Sign Consulting Sign consulting covers several areas. Simply, what is your objective with the signs for a particular project? What is the project budget? Are you working with Wayfinding or basic directionals? What is the project theme, color, layout, etc? Are you working with retail, commercial, and/or industrial, etc? There are a host of questions that will narrow the scope of answers to each project. Each project is custom. If the project warrants consulting, by all means, contact a knowledgeable expert with sign industry experience. In most cases, Chatterbox Designs will have the answer for you. Specialized Knowledge For hard-to-do-projects, large dollar volume projects, or special venues requiring specialized knowledge, professional sign consulting has its place. There are a few instances where large new developments, like university campuses, regional hospitals and airports require a sign consultant. Most of the time this type of consulting is conducted by a design firm that understands signage and Wayfinding. There are very few of them which truly understand signage. Most get by with their graphic design capabilities and their business savvy, unbenownst to their clients. Training and Education What is needed in the industry is training, instruction, guidance, and education. There is no known school, seminar, or training for How-To Design Illuminated and Non-Illuminated Signage. At Chatterbox Designs Inc.
